The heating oil dealers in our network are cream-of-the-crop heating oil professionals. In order for them to work as a Star Home Heat service provider, they are carefully pre-vetted to be insured, highly reputable, and thoroughly experienced so that you have nothing to worry about!
Just like with most online services, you’ll receive an e-mail order confirmation. Orders are delivered by the local Star Home Heat dealer on your scheduled delivery day under normal and operational weather conditions. If you paid by credit card, you won’t need to wait at home for delivery. A delivery ticket will be left by the driver, as usual, and you will also receive an e-mail delivery confirmation with complete details. If you don’t take as many gallons as you ordered, you only pay for the number of gallons you receive. If there is a difference, it will be credited directly to your credit card.
Star Home Heat dealers let us know what delivery territories they want to operate in. The more demand we have in your area, the more dealers we on-board in that region.
Similar to how HotWire.com and Priceline.com work, our heating oil dealers offer us their lowest prices because it helps them to fill in gaps in their delivery schedules. Maximizing their delivery schedules improves their profitability — that is how they can offer us discounted rates. Their only ask is that we share their name after you book.
Once you complete your check out, you will be sent an order confirmation email that always shows you who your assigned heating oil dealer is.
You will only ever pay for the number of gallons you receive. After your delivery, the driver lets our system know how many gallons your tank took. Whatever the difference is will be adjusted and refunded back to your credit card on file. There is never a penalty for over or under ordering so long as your final delivery was over the minimum delivery amount (this varies by dealer but is usually around 50 gallons).
